Chris founded Armstrong Consultants in 1993 who were subsequently acquired by Access in 2008 and progressed quickly to become CEO of Access in 2011.
Chris has been the driving force of Access’s uninterrupted and profitable revenue growth from £28 million in 2011 to £190 million in 2019. The latest of 3 private equity investment rounds in 2018 resulted in a £1 billion valuation for Access landing it firmly as a leading UK technology unicorn company.
Chris is a technology visionary and has been instrumental in the launch of the innovative Access Workspace platform in 2018 that is revolutionising business software targeting mid-market organisations giving customers the freedom to focus on their passion and business.
Under Chris’s leadership Access has grown to more than 2,000 employees and he has created a culture in which employees love their work. He inspires staff across the company to strive for excellence and innovation, whilst having fun and working like a family.

Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand
Alison joined The Access Group in 2019 as the Managing Director for the Human Capital Management and Digital Learning & Compliance Divisions in the UK. In November 2019, Access acquired Attaché Software in Australia, a payroll and accounting software company servicing customers in Australia, New Zealand and the Islands. Alison returned to her native homeland, Australia in January 2020 to lead its first international expansion and to bring to the Australian and New Zealand market, the Access business management solution suite.
Alison has held several CEO roles across technology businesses in the UK, having relocated in 2005 while working at Microsoft. Most recently, Alison was CEO for T-Systems, a Deutsche Telekom company and Moorepay.
Alison brings a rich capability and knowledge of building businesses to deliver strong performance and growth. “The Australia and New Zealand region represents so much opportunity for our customers – new and existing – as well as our employees and the market overall. It’s great to be home, doing what I love.”

Claire joined Access in October 2016, bringing extensive HR experience, primarily in the technology sector, running significant people organisations to drive engagement. Claire’s previous roles include Vice-President Employee Success (EMEA) at Salesforce and Director of HR at Cisco.

Chief Financial Officer
Rob Binns joined Access in June 2019, bringing over 20 years of finance experience in the technology sector, primarily software in a variety of roles at both private and public companies.
Rob’s previous roles include a variety of senior roles, including Group Treasurer at HP Inc. and Vice President and CFO, HP Software. Most recently Rob was CFO at Finastra, a large global financial services software company, where he oversaw Finance, Legal, Risk, and IT functions.
Rob leads the finance team at Access and is responsible for all finance, accounting and tax matters of the company, transforming the team in order to scale and support the growth and aspirations of the Access business.
Chief Commercial Officer
Adam heads up a high performing team that source, negotiate, and integrate best of breed SaaS acquisitions that extend the breadth and quality of Access’ products and customer base. He and his team have worked on more than 30 acquisitions, all of which have delivered value add to Access’ product strategy, customer success and financial results.
Adam joined Access in 2011, from his previous role as EMEA CFO for Avid Inc, the world’s leading audio and video recording and editing software company.
Adam Brown brings experience in managing successful mergers and acquisitions in fast growing tech companies.
Chief Customer Success Officer
Terry oversees Access’ Services and Customer Success organizations that are responsible for helping customers transform their businesses through Access’ broad portfolio of software, subscription and services offerings. Leading a team of over 1000+ certified Customer Success professionals around the world all focused on accelerating customer success.
Terry joined Access in 2015 from Salesforce, bringing a wealth of international leadership experience across a variety of senior roles and technology sectors including software, services, telecoms to Access.
Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Customer Success Group EMEA at Salesforce and was a member of the EMEA leadership team. There he was responsible defining and scaling the Customer Success function across EMEA during period of super growth, keeping Salesforce’s 30,000+ customers happy. This included on-boarding, product adoption, best practices, training, customer support, professional services, partner certification, and developing long-term relationships. Prior to this Terry held leadership roles in sales, new product development and Partner/Channels business with Microsoft, AT&T and Citibank in Asia, USA and EMEA.
Chief Marketing Officer
Gursaran leads a high performing team of over 100 marketers and business development executives delivering Access’ Marketing strategy – creating demand for its innovative products and positioning Access as the leading provider of Cloud technology for the mid-market that transforms the way business software is used, giving every customer the freedom to do more.
Gursaran joined Access in March 2017, bringing a top-class record of leading successful marketing teams at fast-growing tech companies.
Gursaran’s previous roles include Global Marketing Director for Stepstone – one of the earliest SaaS HR solution and Vice-President International Marketing at Kronos Inc- a $1 billion Workforce Management software company. Most recently, Gursaran was Chief Marketing Officer International for McGraw-Hill Education, driving the fast growth of digital learning solutions.
Mike met Chris Bayne at Aston University and has worked alongside Chris since day one.
With a love of code and an innovative approach to problem-solving, Mike has been involved in many elements of our software. From customising client sites to creating our project management solution, Mike has a deep understanding of every area of the business. He provides the teams with the direction and drive to constantly improve in everything we do.
Mike works with the Divisional Management Teams to drive cross divisional excellence, as well as overseeing various Board level initiatives.
Chief Technology Officer
Steve joined Access in July 2016 and is responsible for all Product Development at the company, leading a team of over 500 staff in Product Management and Software Development disciplines. He is a passionate believer and advocate on the power and flexibility of Cloud based software and SaaS resulting in the launch of the innovative Access Workspace technology which transforms the way business software is used, giving our customers the freedom to do more.
Steve Lane has over 30 years’ experience in the software industry. A developer at heart he has been creating and implementing software all his career for a wide variety of organisations.
Steve’s previous roles include CTO at Experian Decision Analytics, CIO at Achilles and Vice President at FICO.
